About Kairos Prison Ministry

Kairos takes the message of Jesus into the dark world of prison. 

Kairos is different from other ministries due to its ongoing engagement with the attendees. We generally host a three-day event twice annually. We also go into the prison on Saturday mornings throughout the year.

There are multiple ways to participate:
  • Cookies - We provide cookies for the attendees. The cookies are a BIG reason several of the men attend. The cookies have certain restrictions. Contact Brad to get a list of the do's and don'ts regarding what's acceptable.
  • Placemats - Each meal is served on a placemat. We encourage children (and adults) to draw pictures and write messages on the placemats. The attendees cherish these and will keep them for years.
  • Meal Tickets - Anyone can sponsor a meal for an attendee. The meal tickets are $5 and buy one meal for an attendee.
  • Inside Team - The Inside Team is made up of men who have a heart for Christ. You will stay in New Boston and go into the prison from 6a to 4p on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 8-10 November. (Hotel accommodations will be provided for you in New Boston.)
  • Outside Team - The Outside Team is made up of women who cook the meals that are taken into the prison during the three-day event.  (Hotel accommodations will be provided for you in New Boston.)
  • Prayer and Share - Something unique about Karios is its continued involvement with the attendees throughout the year. We go back into the prison on Saturday mornings for three hours to meet with and mentor the men in white. SERVING ON A THREE-DAY KAIROS WEEKEND IS NOT A REQUIREMENT FOR PRAYER AND SHARE. This is a GREAT opportunity for men's groups to serve together. 
We still have spots on the team for the next event scheduled for 7-10 November. Alternatively, you can attend just the closing ceremony on the afternoon of Sunday, 10 November.
